Stanley L. Engerman

Stanley L. Engerman is the John H. Munro Professor of Economics and Professor of History at the University of Rochester and Research Associate for the National Bureau of Economic Research. He received his Ph.D. in economics from Johns Hopkins University.

Professor Engerman is the author of the books, Time on the Cross: The Economics of American Negro Slavery (with Robert Fogel); A Historical Guide to World Slavery (with Seymour Drescher); Slavery, Emancipation, and Freedom: Comparative Perspectives; and Slavery (with Seymour Drescher and Robert Paquette).
