The Independent Institute is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt, research and educational organization. Its mission is to boldly advance peaceful, prosperous, and free societies grounded in a commitment to human worth and dignity. Independent receives no government funding. Instead, it draws its support from the generosity of individuals, foundations, and businesses, and from the sale of its publications.
