Cassandra Chrones Moore (19352019) was an Adjunct Research Fellow with the Independent Institute. She was also an Adjunct Scholar with the Competitive Enterprise Institute and Cato Institute and author of the book Haunted Housing: How Toxic Scare Stories are Spooking the Public Out of House and Home. She graduated summa cum laude from Radcliffe College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1956. She received a Master of Arts degree from Harvard University in 1958. In 1975 she became a Doctor of Philosophy at the University of Michigan.
Dr. Moore started her career as an educator. She taught at Mundelein College, Duquesne University, Michigan State University, and the University of Virginia in the 1960s.
She started a real estate career in 1980s, working at Beverly Smith Associates and Windsor Properties in Palo Alto, California. She then ran her own real estate business, Moore Associates, in 1983-1985.
