She is a nationally recognized lawyer, trusted boardroom advisor, and passionate advocate for individual, corporate and institutional clients across numerous industries and walks of life. Her focus is in commercial litigation, employment law, First Amendment rights, and election-law matters.

She received her A.B. in classical studies at Dartmouth College, where she was Editor-in-Chief of The Dartmouth Review, and J.D. from the University of Virginia, where she was also on the Editorial Board of the Virginia Law Review. She was a law clerk for Judge Paul V. Niemeyer of the U. S Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and the U.S. Department of Justice's Constitutional Torts Section of the Civil Division (D.C.), has been a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales, and is a former member of the board of directors for the American Civil Liberties Union of Northern California.
