Dwight D. Eisenhower (1890–1969) was the 34th President of the United States of America, Supreme Commander of Allied Forces in Europe during World War II, and President of Columbia University. His “Farewell Address” first used the term, “military-industrial complex,” to describe and warn Americans of of the dangers from the U.S. defense complex.
