Research Fellow Phil Magness appears on the American Medicine Today radio show and talks about the growing misinformation about the efficacy of masks in fighting Covid-19. A recent study appears to overstate the estimates of future deaths from not wearing masks. Masks can be effective in protecting some, says Magness, but they are not a be-all and end-all for protecting people against the virus. Misinformation breeds mistrust among the population and can lead to growing non-compliance.
