For carbon restrictions to be justified, each link in a long chain of assumptions about science and public policy must hold true. Critics of global-warming activism have focused too much on claims related to the causes of climate change, and too little on claims about the net harm to human populations, the net benefits of restricting emissions, and government’s ability to solve problems.
