In his winter 2008 article (“The Last Colonialist: Israel in the Occupied Territories since 1967”), Rafael Rueveny employs the model of colonialism to describe the history of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and predict its end. His use of the term colonialism is one symptom of an ideological posture insufficiently open to developments that are troubling to his analysis.
